About the Gravity Filter?

Gravity Filter means that the water is filtered by normal gravity process, from the higher point to a lower point, without the help of any external force. The water flows from the top compartment to the bottom compartment, naturally. Usually all UF and UV filters are of this kind.

About the RO Filter?

RO Filter contains poly Amite micron filtration of capacity 0.0001 Micron to remove almost 100% bacteria and 80-95% of solids present in water. Usually a pump is placed before RO filter.

Difference between Gravity Filters & RO Water Purifiers?

In Gravity Filter water is filtered by normal gravity process, where as RO filter needs a pump to push the water through RO membrane. Hence RO filters use electricity, usually it's not more than 3 to 4 units per month.

About Ultra Filtration?

Ultra Filtration is of 0.001 microns which permits the clarification and disinfection of water in a single step. Its membrane barrier acts like a filter for all particles over 10-20 nm in size: pollen, algae, bacteria, viruses, germs and organic molecules.

How Ultra Filtration differs from RO Water filters?

Ultra Filtration is of 0.001 microns which permits the clarification and disinfection of water in a single step, where as RO filter is of capacity 0.0001 Micron to remove almost 100% bacteria and 80-95% of solids present in water. Due to the size of RO filter a pump is always used to push water through RO filter.

What is Ultra Violet Filtration?

Ultraviolet Filtration uses special lamps or bulbs that emit UV light of a particular wavelength, which attacks the genetic core of the microorganism and rearranges the DNA /RNA eliminating the microorganism's ability to function and reproduce. If the microorganism can no longer reproduce, it cannot replicate, therefore it cannot infect other organisms with which has contact. The process is simple but effective, destroying 99.99 percent of harmful microorganisms without adding chemicals to the water.

Difference between Ultra Violet & Other methods of purification?

Ultraviolet Filtration uses special lamps or bulbs that emit UV light rather than filters unlike ultra filtration and RO filters. One UV light or bulb filters 3000 liters to 6000 liters depending upon the UV light capacity.

Do I need to boil the water coming out of gravity filter?

There is no need to boil or disinfect rge drinking water in any way, which is delivered by Shresht RO.

How do I know that the water is pure, as you claim?

We have test certificates from reputed laboratories which show the quality of the water. They can be available on request.

How is water filtered in UF?

Shresht RO uses the state of the art RO process. The first filter (sediment filter) will remove all suspended particles like dust, sand, small stones and other insoluble particles from the water. Second, carbon filter will further remove suspended particles from the water, improves taste of the water and get rid of germs and parasites from the water. Finally, UF membrane removes bacteria, cyst, and leaves water clean and healthy. It uses no chemicals to filter water or kill parasites.

How does it differs from RO Water Purification?

RO, (reverse osmosis) uses force (pump) to push water thru RO membrane. Therefore, it uses electricity. Secondly, if not regulated, it will also cleanout essential minerals from the water. Thirdly, it also waste about 85% of water and therefore, it is expensive to operate and maintain. The cost per glass of drinking water is more expensive then gravity filters.

What is the maximum life of the components inside the unit, which are used for Filtration of water and how do I know, that their life is over and time to replace them?

The sediment filter can be rewashed, as shown in the instruction manual and can be reused, until it tears. The carbon block, needs to be backwashed once in 20-30 days, by the bellow pump, provided with the unit, and as shown in the instruction manual. The UF membrane is good for approximately 1500 liters of water. After that it has to be replaced. It cannot be cleaned. Once the UF membrane nears the end of it's life, the water will stop flowing from it. That is the time for replacement.

Is water safe for drinking for children and elderly?

It is absolutely safe drinking water for everyone. In fact, it is better, since the water retains the minerals, which are necessary for children and elderly.

What is the warrantee on the purifier?

The product as such, is warranted for 1 year against any manufacturing defects. RO/ UF kit, is a consumable and needs to be replaced, at a regular interval. Warrantee has been explained in detail in the instruction manual.
